Pharma Giant Funds Ads Attacking Drug Bill After Hiking Prices Up to 470 Percent

Pharmaceutical giant AbbVie inflated prices for widely-used drugs while its executives pocketed growing bonuses, according to a new report from the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Now it’s helping fund ads attacking legislation that would lower prescription drug costs.

The committee’s two-year investigation found that AbbVie “pursued a variety of tactics to increase drug sales while raising prices for Americans, including exploiting the patent system to extend its market monopoly, abusing orphan drug protections to further block competition, and engaging in anticompetitive pricing practices.”

Full Music Lineup For Summertime by George Announced

ST. CLOUD — The full music lineup for Summertime by George has been announced.

This year’s lineup will feature some of the most popular performers from years past including Johnny Holm, The Fabulous Armadillos, Killer Vees, Michael Shynes, GB Leighton and more.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the summer concert series.

Organizers says the Middle Town Market will also be back with a variety of food vendors, as well as activities for kids, and the Eastman Tavern serving beer and wine.

Farm-to-Table beef key part of young Columbus area farmers’ operation

A farm-to-table component has become an integral part of young Columbus-area farmer Bryan Guenther’s operation. At the Countyline Cattle operation he operates with his wife Sheri, he raises around 50 head of steers.
